| Tiivistelmä: | The literature flow on leadership shows no sign of diminishing, and we do not seem to be much closer to having a practical grasp of the subject. This article argues that answers have indeed been looked in the wrong place. New areas to search are suggested instead. Especially, it is argued that: - leadership is an activity, not a role - to understand leadership there is the need to look at activities, not at individual named leaders - new and better metaphors are needed for the activities of organizational leadership, e.g. the poet in residence, contemplation, narrative, and dialogue. |
