Tiivistelmä:The American regulatory model of corporate (hereafter as: corp.) governance fails to achieve regular compliance with baseline ethical and legal behaviours (herein as: beh/s.), based on the evidence by repeated corp. failures with the most recent being the cases of Enron, Refco, and WorldCom. The U.S. anti-bribery initiative, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), prohibits illegal and unethical payments made to foreign public officials in aiming to abolish bribery as a rational choice global market entry strategy. Using statistics from 1977 to 2008, it is indicated that there has not been a drastic influence by the FCPA on U.S. global corp. beh/s. despite its high profile coverage and the tough regulatory discussion on corp. compliance.
