Abstract: | This paper focuses on the problem of the ethics of ethical business. There is a tension between the rationality of the giver and rationality of business. The study uses the ethical theory of Levinas. The case of the tsunami catastrophe in the year 2004 is analyzed from the perspective of general tension. The discourse analysis is used to examine the aid advertisements. Levinasian interpretation could be used to criticize the entire fundraising business, the study suggests. |
