Abstract: | The purpose of this paper is to critically discuss new concepts that have been developed by US American business ethics researchers during the last years. The most important new research paradigms are the stakeholder concept, virtue ethics and social contract approaches to business ethics. The discussion focusses on clarifying the theoretical bases of selected "major works" and tries to assess their contribution to coping with foundational and implementational problems in business ethics. A concluding synopsis summerizes critical issues in empirical business ethics research. |
