Tiivistelmä:A number of epistemological technologies have evolved in the past 50 years bearing the term "action" as part of their reference label. Although not always credited, Kurt Lewin is this author's nomination as the founder of these so-called "action technologies," in that they seem to have their genesis in his reference to action research as a means of conducting systematic inquiry into group phenomena. The common basis for most of these technologies is that knowledge is to be produced in service of action.
