| Tiivistelmä: | New product development is becoming essential for firms when the markets and technologies are changing rapidly. Technology roadmaps (TRMs) are effective tools for connecting product and technology planning. In this paper, a new approach is proposed with patent data being used in a quantitative methodology to support reliable decision-making in roadmapping processes. Text-mining techniques were used to find the relevant information on which portfolio, co-word, and network analyses were performed. Three types of product-technology maps were found to be applied to specific roadmapping steps. |
