On the one hand, chief executives put their companies through radical restructuring, with littlw account taken of the time and process needed to change skills and behavior. Then they are surprised to find that they have to repeat the exercise a few years later, because once the restructuring is over, change stops. On the other hand, executives influenced by theories of organizational behavior encourage deep cultural change in their companies from the bottom up. |
