| Tiivistelmä: | Managers need to make choices along a large number of dimensions. Due to the choices interactions with each other, firms can be seen as systems of interdependent choices. This article discusses research addressing three naturally arising questions: 1. How do such systems evolve over time? 2. What role does organizational design play in whether a firm will arrive at a consistent and high-performing set of choices? 3. What are the consequences of cognitive limitations by decision makers when faced with such complex systems? |
