| Tiivistelmä: | Based on an extensive literature review, the authors claim that there is a lack of integrated theoretical framework in the field of medical tourism industry. The purpose of this article is to develop this model. The model is developed from the perspectives of supply and demand and its purpose is to capture the current situation of medical tourism in a given destination. Both qualitative and quantitative techniques are recommended to test the framework. The article gives important knowledge for the medical tourism industry practitioners, as well as provides implications for future research. |
