| Tiivistelmä: | The concept of what may be defined simply as accurate pricing is generally acceptable to all, and the role of price in the marketplace receives very considerable lip service. Unfortunately current practice tends to be much removed from the theoretical idea. This is not to say that the pricing scenario which will result in revenues totalling a prescribed financial level cannot, in the long term, be implemented, but an outline of inherent practical problems seems an appropriate first step. Present financial patterns in both the gas and electricity industry are not structured to meet the current more competitive pricing situations, principally due to heavy debt-servicing requirements. |
