Abstract (eng): Intranets can improve communications inside companies by providing easy-to-use channels and methods for information publication.
However, to ensure efficient information sharing system, it is necessary to investigate the intranet solutions created for a company, information management issues, and user requirements.

Using social media features can enable company personnel to contribute to content providing processes, share their ideas and comments on company processes, and simultaneously empower people to create communities across departmental boundaries.
Social media services also make it possible to communicate corporate news and events in a trendy fashion.

Using social media not only requires a change in company culture in terms of the ways the personnel receive information, but also requires more effort from the company managers to encourage employees to take these services into use.

The purpose of this work is to create an intranet environment to study the required elements for the intranet from the personnel and management perspectives as well as to evaluate the effects of the intranet on company communications both between different hierarchy levels and individual departments within the company.
Abstract (fin): Intranet voi parantaa yrityksen sisäistä viestintää tarjoamalla helppokäyttöisen julkaisukanavan.
