Abstract (eng):In this thesis several two-dimensional hydrofoils are studied and their perfor-mance analyzed.
The differences of airfoil forms are defined and their effects on performance is studied.

The validation of the studies is done with CFD analysis as well as X-Foil study using conventional NACA four-digit airfoils.
The range of applicability of the X-Foil software in hydrodynamic propeller design is addressed and its profits draw-backs explained.

The applicability of Menter's gammaReTheta -transition model in hydrodynamic propeller design is analysed its accuracy investigated.

In three dimensions a test case of INSEAN E779A -propeller is investigated in model scale and the effects of three-dimensionality of the flow are discussed.
ProCal -software and CFD is used.
Abstract (fin):Tässä diplomityössä tutkitaan joukkoa kaksiulotteisia laivan potkurin lapaprofiile-ja ja niiden suorituskykyä.
