Abstract:It is herein examined whether gender and home economy influence attitudes towards tourism and the environment. Using data from students enrolled in senior undergraduate and 1st year postgraduate tourism and hospitality subjects from eight economies, it is found that nationality moderates attitudes among women much more than among men. It is also concluded that general environmental attitudes (herein as: e-atts.) are well formed, but tourism-related e-atts. are often contradictory.
