Abstract:This article concentrates on the international staffing of early internationalizers by integrating the Ethnocentric, Polycentric, Regiocentric, and Geocentric (EPRG) concept with the Process Theories of Internationalization. On a dataset of 116 German medium-sized companies, it is tested whether the determinants which allow companies to internationalize early affect the companies' international staffing. The findings indicate that prior international experience doesn't influence the companies' international staffing. Technological intensity increases the probability of selecting an ethnocentric staffing policy while networks enable companies to use regiocentric or geocentric staffing policies.
