Abstract:Knowing which products are profitable and which are not can be a significant help in pointing to required actions and decision making. The author describes what happened in a 'real life' example. This is the story of a company, which was doing badly. Potentially it faced closure but subsequently it was turned around. This article is a record of what actually happened in one Midlands engineering company. This story concentrates on how the relevant information was produced and on the action and results which then followed.
