| Abstract: | Recent empirical models of static equilibrium in differentiated products markets are discussed first. Simple theoretical models with symmetric linear demands may not capture the results that can appear when more realistic models are estimated. Second, the computation of dynamic equilibrium models are discussed. They demonstrate that a static analysis of mergers can lead to misleading results. |
