Abstract: | System design consists of modelling and of metamodelling. After the distinction between these two aspects, their relationship is described. Metamodelling is applied to value systems, and the relationship existing between ethics and metaethics is shown. Ethics takes place in the inquiring system at the object level, metaethics is generated in the inquiring system at the metalevel. These concepts are used to model and metamodel environmental ethics, and to discuss the ethics and metaethics of conservation. Moral principles and moral judgment is specified as well. |
