Abstract:Managers often receive information from systems developed more than a decade ago. The information these systems provide is insufficient, focusing on accounting and financial issues rather than business issues. Managers today must balance product, distribution, and customer considerations; therefore, the information provided must reflect all of these dimensions. Companies can now use profitability reporting techniques to generate better information, which can results in improved profitability.
