Abstract:By 1995, between 10% and 15% of the workforce will be engaged in telework. By 2010, this proportion will have risen to between 15% and 20% (NEDO forecast). Many managers have only a vague awareness of telework, and this has been gleaned via "the somewhat misleading "lifestyle" image purveyed by the popular media". Teleworkers are more productive, more reliable and more loyal than their on-site colleagues. They are also likely to produce better quality work, to take less time off, and to stay longer with the organization.
