Abstract:The activity of the German trade company , Thyssen Handelsunion AG, in Russia is described. While trade between Germany and Russia practically does not function without state guarantee, the Duesseldorf firm /turnover of 15.6 Mrd DEM, 28 700 employees/ is very successful in the Jaroslawl oblast /300 km from Moscow/ without Hermes-protection. The have got a pipeline contract of 600 000 M DEM, but the business in the region seems to be a perpetum mobile: the company receives nearly automatically new orders.
