Abstract:In this candid interview, Martin Runyon talks about what we learned about management at Ford, Nissan, and the Tennessee Valley Authority - and how he hopes to use that same management style to streamline the U.S. postal service. The greatest challenge, as Runyon sees it, is dealing with the organization's mammoth size and unfathomable bureaucracy. Still he is well on his way to making the Postal Service "run like a business". In his initial year as Postmaster General, Runyon has brought substantial changes to the Postal Service.
