| Abstract: | To illustrate how cultural representation in touristic discourse arises from identifiable political perspectives, the case of Taiwan is analysed. While examining Taiwan's historical development and its present ambiguous situation, we show that tourism in Taiwan is an arena for the struggle for domination through representation. |
