Abstract:A new Mercedes-Benz engine factory is under construction at the Untertuerkheim works of the company. In the new factory great changes are planned in working time and payment systems in order to produce substantial improvements in productivity. The new plant will be warded off competition from rival locations abroad. The background, the provisions and the significance of the agreement are summarized.
