| Abstract: | Why, among all the fields of economics, should monetary and financial economics have their own three-volume dictionary? And if these fields are important enough to deserve special attention, should they be treated together? At a commercial level, the answers are clear. The financial services industry makes up a large and growing part of the world economy, and it differs from other important industries in the intensity with which economics is used by participants in the industry. |
