| Abstract: | This article focuses on two companies which have made substantial progress in developing responses to questions of how to build a career structure which supports the development of the individual, managerial, and executive talent pools needed in today's business environment. The authors give excellent examples of what their companies have done to reduce the number of job classification titles by expanding career bands. Movement within, across, and up these new career bands is also discussed. |
