| Abstract: | This article summarizes the pertinent literature in terms of 3 basic questions associated with outsourcing decisions: what problems does information systems outsourcing attempt to solve, how are information systems outsourcing decisions made, and what are the consequences of information systems outsourcing? Additionally, the authors report on the experiences of one early adopter of information systems outsourcing focusing particularly on 6 areas of outsourcing impacts: economic, service, organizational, procedural, technical and cultural. |
