| Abstract: | Work sample tests and assessment centres predict job success by measuring the effectiveness with which applicants handle a simulated version of the job. Realistic simulations have high fidelity. Less realistic simulations have a decreased task and response fidelity. Motowidlo (1990) called these low fidelity simulations. The situational interview and the situational inventory are well-known forms of low fidelity simulation. More recently, Motowidlo (1990) developed and validated a low fidelity simulation for selecting managers. |
