Abstract:Strategic management of small firms appears to be an important issue in newly industrialising countries (NICs) as well as in developed countries (DCs). Small firms in NICs like Korea, typically basing their competitive advantage on low wages, now face an increasing threat from less developed countries (LDCs) like China, Thailand, or Malaysia, as their labour costs are rapidly increasing. This study discusses the comparative management issue in the field of strategic management.
