| Abstract: | At the beginning the role of the empty car distribution (ECD) process inside the organization of freight transport is analysed.It has been found that the ECD decisions are strongly connected with the train routing and make-up problem.The central part of the paper is the elaboration of a model and its test on a smaller network.At the end some conclusions and suggestions for the future work are given. |
