Abstract:This interview gives a unique look at more than 70 years of business practice applied to today's management challenges. In 1916, Crawford began his career as a labourer at Steel Products Company. In 1958, he retired as TRW's chairman of the board. In between, he worked closely with corporate giants like H. Ford and A. Sloan. His pioneering efforts include an 'empowering' approach to human resources , an emphasis on open communications, the development of corporate planning, and reliance on research and development to build the company's future.
