Abstract: | Tea accounts for nearly half of all drinks consumed in the UK and has become a multimillion pound, tough, competitive industry with chimpanzees and cartoon characters vying for the biggest slice of the market. But despite the obvious demand, supply is so plentiful that tea has become a remarkably cheap drink, at around twopence a cup, and for some in the industry profits are hard to come by. At the same time, companies are having to come up with ever more innovative ideas just to try to maintain their market share, let alone increase it. |
