Abstract:Socialist market economy is only a goal but a reality in China for its current economic system is still the planned system with some elements of market. So at present, the focal point of China's macro-economic management is still to constrain demands, which is the major difference in macroeconomic management between China and the West. The 10-odd-year history of reform and opening to the outside world shows that neither the problem of micro efficiency nor that of macro stability can be solved by only transferring power and yielding benefits to a lower level rather than reforming ownership relations.
