Abstract:From 1989 to 1993, the residents' consumption price indexes rose 18.8%, 18.0%, 3,1%, 3.4%, 6.4%, 14.7% respectively over the year before. The index in the first 4 months in 1994 rose 22.3% over the same period of 1993. The main reasons for inflation are the inflated investment in fixed assets, overgrowth, inflated consumption funds and ineffective reform of price system. so the countermeasures are to pursue relatively tight monetary policy, to control investment scale, to strengthen the effectiveness of state macro control and readjustment and to increase financial income.
