| Abstract: | In 1991, as part of a performance improvement effort, Schlage Lock initiated a BPR program. The company defined its reengineering goals as increasing throughput and productivity, reducing operations costs and improving customer relations. Schlage adopted a strategic business plan founded upon a vision statement and a mission statement. To meet these goals, the plan envisions a significant increase in the use of automation. Most important, it envisions implementation of SISP, a pivotal endeavour necessary to the business plan to fruition. |
