Abstract:By the end of 1994, the transactions in economy and trade between China and the Asia and Pacific region accounted for 80% or so of China's total foreign trade volume of that year and 90% or so of foreign investment introduced by China came from that region. Because China is located in the center of the Asia and Pacific region, it has an important role in promoting the regional economic cooperation. Near one third of region and one half of population would be empty without China's participation in the economic cooperation in that region. In recent more than decade, China's economic development and its reform and opening up drive have enhanced the vitality of region's economy.
