| Abstract: | This article discusses the evolving concept of the strategic management process, the growing breadth of the field, and its lack of definition. The article also discusses the emerging positions of macro and micro viewpoints, as well as other specific contingency theories and applications, in defining core strategic management processes. In addition to the redefinition of strategic management and the contingency research and theory work on strategic management definition and redefinition, other specific areas are emerging as potentially part of the well-focused but narrowly defined concept of strategic management for the next decade. |
