Abstract:One of the most obvious features of corporate life in the 1990s has been the massacre of middle management. However, this is only one consequence of a massive reorganization of the structures of work. Most managers have heard of the end of jobs for life and the need to prepare themselves for a portfolio career. However, most underestimate the changes taking place and the impact these will have on their training and career development needs. It is worth looking at these changes in more detail.
