| Abstract: | Stealing computer chips and other electronics parts has become a growth industry in Asia. The crimes cost chip makers millions of dollars each year -- and most of the crimes go unreported. It was just another quiet Saturday night shift at a factory on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur when more than a dozen masked men brandishing machetes jumped out of a truck. They overpowered the security guards at the gate. Then the thugs got an employee to swipe an ID card through a high-security lock leading to the shop floor. |
