Abstract:As economic activity has become increasingly globalised and borderless, and from the perspective of ensuring seamless trade and investments, a need to globally harmonize systems and implementation of intellectual property rights protections has been recognized. The World Trade Organization was established after more than seven years of laborious talks under the GATT Uruguay Round and the Agreement on the Trade Related Aspects of Intellectual property rights was also concluded.
