Abstract: | According to the customs' statistics, the total import and export volume of China's foreign trade in 1995 reached US$ 280.85 billion, up 18.6% over last year with a surplus of US$ 16.69 billion. The proportions of both primary products and industrial finished products in export increased, reaching 85% for the latter. China had been the second largest country receiving overseas direct investment. In 1995, the output value of 120,000 foreign-funded enterprises in operation accounted for 14.5% of the country's total industrial output value. Their total import and export volume accounted for 39% of the country's total. |
