Abstract:The characteristics of the non-state-owned economy in China are as follows: Among all industries, the growth rate of non-state-owned industry is higher than that of state-owned industry. In terms of the proportion distribution of different industries, the non-state-owned light industry and processing industry occupy more shares compared with heavy industry and basic industry. The non-state-owned industry in the east develops faster while one in the central and western areas, especially the western area develops slowly. It shows that the said is greatly correlative with the economic growth rates of these areas. During the Ninth five-year Plan period and beyond, the proportion of non-state-owned economy will continue to increase, which is an inevitable trend.
