| Abstract: | So you are interested in a new car? If you are in Bangkok, go buy a house. That's what Woranuch Likahnanonthawong did. The airline employee recently bought a two-bedroom, 37-square-meter apartment in the Muang Thong Thani township because developer Bangkok Land was offering a Daihatsu Mira as a sweetener. She sold the car for about $10,000, effectively cutting the purchase price on her flat to a little over $15,000. If only there were more like her. Started in 1990, the Muang Thani project was envisioned as a haven for middle- and upper-class families. |
