| Abstract: | Organizational transformation is taking place on a global scale. To be competitive, firms have to be smaller, smarter and swifter in their response to changing market conditions. The workplace has been similarly transformed for everyone. Employees must be equally flexible and adaptive. It's unclear, however, just how an organisation and its employees can adapt in a satisfying and productive way to these new dynamics. The authors address this question by sharing the "observations from the trenches" of 49 people they interviewed about changes in what can be called the "psychological contract" in their organisations. |
