| Abstract: | This report presents an overview of forecasts for the tobacco in Western and Eastern Europe. The outlook is positive for the major international branded tobacco manufacturers and negative for local and monopoly producers. Tax take from tobacco may rise substantially in constant terms before prices reach a level where consumption is forced down at a substatntial rate. The major negative factor is the fall in the numbers of people in the primary smoking age groups across much of Europe. |
