Abstract:In this article, aspects of Japanese SME (small and medium enterprises) are analysed by applying a macro-economic, personal and management-oriented research of entrepreneurship. SME play an important macro-economic role: Almost 99% of the enterprises are SME, more than 70% of all employees work in SME. Moreover, Japanese entrepreneurs are motivated in the same way as German entrepreneurs. Finally, Japanese entrepreneurs use intensively outside networks because of underdeveloped capital- and labour markets and highly risky innovation processes.
