| Abstract: | In this paper, the impact of privatization on airlines performance in 10 countries is examined. The empirical analysis suggests an overall positive evidence on performance. Though the paper's findings support privatization of state-owned airlines to reap these benefits, the specific circumstances of an airline under consideration should be well studied prior to proceeding with privatization. Sample airlines are: Air Canada, Austrian Airlines, British Airways, Japan Air, KLM, Lufthansa, Malaysian Airline, New Zealand Airlines, Singapore Airlines, and Thai Airlines. |
