| Abstract: | While other regions of the world are experiencing sustained economic growth, sub_saharan Africa for the most part is experiencing negative growth. Studies from organizations such as Oxfam working in the region indicate that sub-Saharan Africa is the only region of the world forecasted to see an increase in poverty in the coming decades. Why are African countries unable to copy or adapt proven techniques from the developed countries and the emerging nations of East Asia; and what measures would it take to reverse the negative economic trends in the region? |
