Abstract:The Asian financial crisis has seriously influenced the development of China's economy and trade and even the economy as a whole. Facing the challenges, China should take the following measures to develop foreign economy and trade while actively increasing domestic demand:actively developing brandname products, raising the quality and grade of export commodities and increasing the export of commodities with high added-value and technological content and complete sets of equipment; developing with great efforts the international market in a bid to realize market diversification in terms of import and export trade, utilizing foreign investment and foreign economic cooperation, and trade and economic cooperation with North America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East; and so on.
