Abstract:On the global level, approximately 50 societies have not been able to make significant progress toward development over the last several decades in spite of various kinds of assistance. Information technology is a powerful new tool not yet applied. It can reinforce and redirect familiar programs, and expedite others. There is information on world poverty incl. 'Rural areas with majorities receiving income less than a dollar a day', 'The poorest', 'Present path of development into the 21st century', 'Newly feasible alternative paths to development', 'Consumption at sustainable levels of living - 21st century', and 'Happiness as a goal for development'.
