Abstract: | By 2000, the urbanization in China will reach 35%. Key cities and those having nicer conditions will reach or close to mid-level developed countries in public utility facilities. For this purpose, following additional items must be available: 40 million m3 water supply, 14 million m3 sewage treatment capacity per day, 2500km urban roads and 158km railroad track. And, fixed assets investment should reach 520-650 billion yuan. By Oct. 1998, the state had approved 2 groups of 601 urban infrastructure construction projects with a total investment up to 200 -odd billion yuan. The projects basically cover treatment of urban sewage and waste, urban roads, urban water supply and drainage, urban gas and heating network and so on. |
